From 1 – 11 May 2025, the Seychelles will make history as it becomes the first African nation to host the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup.

Set against the stunning backdrop of Victoria, Mahé, this tournament will showcase 16 international teams. These include powerhouses like Brazil, Portugal, Italy and the reigning African champions, Senegal.
As reported by African Travel & Tourism Association, global broadcasts are anticipated to shine a spotlight on the islands, with approximately 3,600 visitors expected to attend.

This presents a valuable opportunity for travel agents across Africa to create and promote specialized packages that blend sports and island tourism.
Supported by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), this event marks a significant step in Africa’s expanding influence in international sports.
Hosting the tournament is expected to enhance Seychelles’ long-term potential for sports tourism.
Moreover, African travel professionals are ideally positioned to create tiered travel packages that include international flights, inter-island excursions, beach sports and cultural experiences.
